Enhanced External Counter Pulsation (EECP) is a non-invasive medical procedure that is used to treat Angina and Heart Failure. It is a low-risk procedure with minimal discomfort as no incisions or surgery is required. EECP may be an alternative treatment option for patients who are not candidates for other treatments, such as Angioplasty, Bypass Surgery, or Medication Therapy.
EECP works by using inflatable cuffs that are wrapped around the legs and buttocks to increase blood flow to the heart. The cuffs inflate and deflate in sync with the heartbeat, which helps to improve blood flow and oxygen supply to the heart muscle. EECP typically involves 35, one-hour daily sessions, over a seven-week period, during which time patients lie on a comfortable bed while the cuffs inflate and deflate. Due to its non-invasive nature, this treatment typically does not require any recovery time.

How to Prepare for this Procedure
Patients have to come to the EECP set up and spend at least 1 hour for the session.
