Dr. Sarang Gaikwad, MBBS, MCh (CVTS) is a highly experienced Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgeon who has specialised in Paediatric Cardiac Surgery with an impressive track record of performing more than 800 Paediatric Cardiac Surgeries. He has gained extensive experience and has participated in 4,000 surgeries, ranging from ASD Closure to complicated procedures like Arterial Switch, and has special interest in Aortic Repair, Mitral, and Tricuspid Valve Repair.
Dr. Gaikwad has been closely involved with the Cardiac Transplant Programme at Fortis Hospital Mulund, Mumbai since its inception in 2015 and was a registered Heart and Lung Organ Retrieval and Transplant Surgeon till 2018.
He has worked at distinguished institutes such as the University Hospital Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust, during which he has acquired significant experience in cardiac OPD, operating theatres, ICU, and pre and post-operative patient management. Dr. Gaikwad has also been involved in teaching clinical fellows, junior residents, and para clinical staff.
Dr. Gaikwad conducted research on Thyroid Nodules and presented his findings at conferences and has published scholarly articles in reputed journals, including the Indian Journal of Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery and the World Journal of Paediatric Congenital Heart Surgery.
