Ultrasound & Doppler Imaging at AHI
Diagnostic Ultrasound Scans of the neck, chest, abdomen, and non-obstetric pelvis are conducted on an outpatient basis, either as part of general health check-ups with prior appointments or in emergencies without appointments. Patients undergoing a whole abdomen/pelvic scan are advised to ideally have a full urinary bladder for better evaluation of pelvic organs. To facilitate the scan, patients need to bring a doctor’s prescription (if referred), relevant medical records, and any previous sonography reports. These ultrasound procedures are performed by skilled and proficient consulting radiologists, ensuring swift and accurate reporting.
Doppler sonography involves the use of ultrasound to visualise blood vessels, observe the flow characteristics and direction, and assess any blockages caused by blood clots or atherosclerotic plaques. Our department specialises in a high volume of Doppler studies, including Peripheral Arterial and Venous Dopplers, Radial Artery Dopplers, Carotid Dopplers, and Renal Dopplers, conducted daily by experienced consultants. Appointments are required for Doppler studies, and no specific patient preparation is necessary.
